In his early legal career, Matt served in the chambers of one of his respected mentors, Hon. Martin J. Jenkins, justice of the California Supreme Court. He was awarded the Wiley M. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services, reflecting his enduring commitment to public service. In alignment with his values, Matt has mentored youth in East Palo Alto through the Boys & Girls Club of the Peninsula and taught high school in the Sequoia Union High School District—experiences that continue to shape his people-first philosophy.
A life-long Bay Area resident, Matt grew up in Belmont and graduated from Carlmont High School. After earning his bachelor’s degree at UCLA, he returned to the Bay Area to earn both his J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from Golden Gate University School of Law. He now lives in San Francisco with his wife. When he’s not practicing law, you’ll find Matt outdoors, exploring the Bay Area, or performing as an amateur musician.
